Introduction

I'm a deeply romantic person. I *love* chick-flicks, adore love stories, and am a sucker for sappiness. I love everything that goes along with romance - romantic walks on the beach, surprise flowers, sweet texts or love letters (even better!), random calls just to say he's thinking of me, long thought out speeches about just how much and why he loves me, candlelight dinners, and happily ever afters. The whole shebang. It's my thing.

Love is not like the movies. Love is not always sappy. Relationships aren't always pretty. Guys aren't all emotional and sensitive and sometimes (most of the time?) they might just rather play video games with their buddies than call and pour their hearts out to you. I know I happened to find one of those guys. Don't get me wrong, he can be a sweetheart. But, well, he's definitely a guy. And not  a romantic one.

So I thought I'd chronicle the adventures of a Romantic at Heart Girl (that's me!), dating a not so romantic, Real Life Dude (that's my boyfriend!).

There will be some romantic, sweet and sappy posts (partly because I'm me, so I can turn a lot of things into romantic posts ;) but also because believe it or not, my Real Life Dude does actually have a romantic side. He hides it well, but it peeks out on occasion).

So follow along our crazy ride that we call a relationship, as I detail and record our happy moments and our not so happy moments. Welcome to our life.
